poisonous
To the people I met on Saturday,
I enjoyed talking to you guys, so at the risk of sounding like a freaking "I wanna expand my friends list" teenager, add me on MSN if you will: self_righteous@imneverwrong.com =)
I'm not cool like you guys but I'll try! *sobs*
bwahahahah

If I wanted to be poisonous, I could say that one shouldn't ask for opinions if...

Forget it.

Anything to say, please say to my face. =)
Would you demand honesty of me if you chose not to similarly give it to me?
Thank you.

We won't be moving to BTC after all...
After all that hoo-haa about us winning back the Bt Timah Campus after SMU vacates, our triumphant return will be led and followed and kept up by....

Faculty of Law. And only them.

The rest of us can stop pretending to be being concerned now.

"After serious consideration and discussions with the Deans of the Business and Law Schools, the university has decided that the Business School will remain at Kent Ridge, but also have a facility at Bukit Timah in which it can conduct enhancement and enrichment programs that will bring alumni, students and faculty together.  Very importantly, the facilities at Kent Ridge for the Business School will be substantially expanded and upgraded with state-of-the-art facilities.  The Council, President and Provost strongly support this decision and it is a clear signal that the University supports our desire for the Business School to become a center of excellence.  I anticipate that we will begin evaluating our expansion options this coming semester and move toward initiating our Kent Ridge expansion in 2006.  With such new facilities, we will be well on the road to achieve our global ambitions and aspirations."

Bloggers.SG 2005
[edited. Sorry, my laptop's really down. Taht's why this update took so long, and it was only half-baked when I published it.]

Coupled with Ingo @ Wala Wala on Friday, this had to be my most non-anti-social weekend ever. (and I have a KTV session coming up on Monday! Whee!)

I won't go into details of the convention itself, but suffice to say, many many people were there (and many of you found out about my lurking =x)
So here's a list of the people I remember meeting or seeing (to anyone I left out, please leave a comment or message =x)
Sheena, Gabriel, Zhiyang, mr/mrs/miss/master brown, Mr Miyagi, jseng-huileng-yauyau, preetam, Adri, calmone, Xiaxue, Cowboycaleb, Daryl Sng, Scarlett Ting, Sassyjan, suspiciousbastard, DonAQ, Injenue, Eileen, Evan/Straydog Scraps, Airhole, SPG, KingMeng, NaiveGuy, Blinkymummy, Daniel, The Associate, Barffie, BigFuck, SillyCelly, expat@large, Makanguru

First Impressions of the people I spoke to:
Zhiyang: Awfully shy, nice curly hair (on his head la, dammit), has an extreme obsession with *ahem* =) aside to Zhiyang:if you don't get online soon, i'm not sending u pics of *ahem* liao hor! =p

Sheena (who needs no more comments or introduction =p), (extra me) and Zhiyang

Family brown: Watching them all is enough to warm your heart. How can you not love these two kids?

Mrs Lee/brown was very accomodating. One can see why she's commonly described by others as the silent pillar of strength. And I don't know if I'd allow strangers to carry my children like she allowed Sheena and I to carry hers =)

Scarlett Ting and Sassyjan: Really really very friendly people, especially Ting. Both of them insist that they needed to photoshop their photos before uploading, but I disagree. The only photoshop I did for them was Ting's twirl =p

Sassyjan, (extra me) and Ting.
With an even more extra Kenny Sia behind =p

Kenny Sia: no need to post pictures of him or say more about him la. =p Funny faces everywhere.

Adrian/DonAQ: The Evil one. I told him he looked like the evil younger brother of the nice mrbrown. Now I realise I've made a mistake. he really looks more like the evil younger brother of Sheena. Don't believe me? See for yourself. Also very excited (understandably) by tits.

Gerald/Injenue: He sounds like the live version of the cowboybar conversation motto, "All topics lead to...sex" haha...I'm kidding. Actually, i'm not sure if I'm kidding. Took a little while to warm up to talk to him, but interesting person to speak to =p

King Meng: Had a nice side conversation with him...Feeling a little *blah* that I can't help him with his jobsearch even though I work in recruitment...Another one of those twists in life: He's a Comp Engineer working in Auditing, while I'm a Biz major working in Engineering recruitment. lol. [sorry, wrong info =x] The fastest one to reach my blog too =p

Big Fuck: he is THE Big Fuck, I tell ya. Lol. One of those who writes as he is. Everytime I see him, I have an urge to laugh. Too bad the alcohol was pathetic, if not it'd have been fun to see what he spews when drunk =p Very friendly.

Sheena, Don AQ, Injenue, KingMeng and Big Fuck.

Evan/StrayDog: The Funkiest Uncle alive! (And I don't mean his smell ok!) He really exudes this funky vibe I tell you...Very in-tune with young-people stuff. Hope we didn't leave you out! =DHPIM0316
Don AQ, (err dunno who), Blinkymummy, KingMeng, Evan

Eileen: The babe is super funny. I don't know why, but hearing her speak in Hokkien just sounds as funny as listening to my boss try to speak in Mandarin =p Very down-to-earth point of view, but manages to remain funny-as-hell still =p
HPIM0315-2
Eileen in the middle

Suspicious bastard: Knows YC (yo, yc, u reading this?) from back in sec school days, has very interesting way of talking. Need some more thinking in-depth than normal in order to know the links of what he just said to the topic at hand. Quietly funny in his own way.
 (materials engineer @ work. heh)

Airhole: Super friendly person. Photo defaced at his request. Little dynamo...

These are the people I spoke to...There were so many many more I didn't dare speak to or take pictures with. Shy la. lol.

I think I've gotten to speak to more new people these two days than I normally do in a month (eeks). Also, despite my "vow" of secrecy, I've told some people my URL, as well as how to find my url via Sheena. Let's hope I don't regret this =x

By the way, Sheena, If that ST reporter didn't publish the story abt u cos I didn't wanna give my URL, sorry ok...Figured this morning that I should've given my really old URL, like one of those that has its last post dated 2003 or something =x
The story on Bloggers.SG was sucky anyway. Just because she wasn't made to feel welcome didn't mean it was a boring thing. =x heh

Ingo @ Wala Wala
This was meant to be Saturday's post, but let's pretend I was on time ok? =p

So, Yes! Friday!
Dinner @ Lau Pa Sat with Von, Thelma, Kev and Zu. Satay + Stingray + Sugarcane Juice = *buuuuurp* =p Thanks to Von and Kev for taking time out of their very *ahem* packed post-Belgium schedule back in Singapore to meet up with us =p

The next hour or two after dinner was a blur...
It went something like this
Wala - Road - Wala - Road - Haagen Dazs - Wala - Haagen Dazs - Wala - Haagen Dazs (am I spelling this right?)
Back and forth, trying to spend time with both the group above and my juniors from Ingo.
Eventually, Kev Von and Zu decided to leave out of boredom (sorry!!!) and to avoid the midnight surcharge.

As for Wala Wala, none of my juniors would believe it was my first time going there. I AM SUCH A SUPER NON-CHIONGER-NON-PUBBER CAN'T YOU SEE?

*ahem*

As I was saying, they had schemes to get us girls up for free, but all we lacked was a leader to bring us 4 up. So yours truly, being the *freaking* chao lao-est there, had to pretend I was damn zai at these things, and tell the bouncer *who had balloons for biceps* that we'd bought the jug before we left for dinner and had forgotten to get chopped before we left...After a little hesitation, he bought it and let us in! big kisses to the nice big bicep-ed bouncer! =p

ffwd many little details later, we played 5-10, and I was sabo-ed twice within my first 5 min into the game. Basket. And these juniors were just getting to know me only. Damn. I ended up having to lick chilli off a guy's nose and sucking a lychee off a guy's finger. The third one later on involved biting a guy's eyebrow *ouch!* Suffice to say, we had alot of fun sabo-ing other people =p heh.

So this being my first time at Wala Wala, was also my first time listening to E.I.C. I have no opinions about bands, so long as they don't mess music up. They certainly didn't =p Jack really is quite hot =p And we made so much noise, i think we got their attention most throughout the night. Stayed till closing time, then totally collapsed after uploading the pictures....

So here're some pictures to whore =x do NOT ask me to intro my juniors to you ok.

Jack from E.I.C. (No, that's not me beside him)

Forfeits:

Sigh. To be young, hormonal and a freshman again =p
heh

Horoscope
Here is your single's love horoscope
for Friday, July 15:

Your romantic notions are quite lofty today. That's totally fine -- but are you sure they're realistic? And are you sure you're not setting impossible goals in order to avoid achieving them?

for a person who's afraid of failure, that could well be it =)

I had to I had to...
I had to say this:

He can't leave. It was his LIFE and BLOOD. That was never a choice for him.
He never caused it. He changed it from a sucking mechanism to a business model. He made it successful. He stayed when it almost gave its last gasp. He remained by its side. And he revived it.
It's called passion for compassion - something you don't have time/energy for, as you have admittedly said.

Charity, goodwill and kindness are the luxuries of people who eat too much have nothing to do.

I'm afraid that this may one day become the wedge in our friendship.

INGO!

I love this picture. heh. Ingo warriors!

smile at me?

So like we were saying...
Last week was hectic.
Work-Camp-Home, set on repeat.

But worth the hassle anyway =p
I'm alot more alive; I guess it was just work and its monotony getting me down (holy crap! Did I promise I'd commit to this??), but I'm feeling like the air is that much more breathable.

Perks of being a returning-non-committed-senior:
(1) You get to bounce around groups
(2) No freshie really knows who you are, so depending on how sociable/brave you are, you could make alot of friends pretending you're a freshie (no, i didn't do that. I'm shy and anti-social)
(3) you realise how much your ex-freshies love you (awwwww......)
(4) You get the biggest luxury of all - SLEEP! muahahaha I got to sleep after chionging+supper, and no one came to wake me up and harrass me for sleeping, becauseI wasn't officially involved anyway. I was KO-ed so badly that I didn't even realise the 2 ppl who were "on the bed with me, so to speak", were able to wake up, leave the room and switch off the lights without my knowledge, which is very uncommon.

So many discoveries made during/after chiong night. Instead of dancing my night away and getting wasted on alcohol from 7-11 (woohoo to VodkaaaA), I spent most of it talking to someone. Same problems in general la. Done to death topic.

The confessions after the done-to-death-topic was much more shocking. For a time, I was drawn out of my the-world-is-wonderful-and-everyone's-nice-and-kind shell, and brought on a cold tour of reality.

Then there was the 2nd 7-11 trip with the girls that opened my eyes further.

And followed by a heart-to-heart with another girl after I woke up.

Suffice to say, my guilt complex is trippin' again. I feel partially responsible for what had happened, but I can't turn back the hands of the clock.

What is the point of a camp?

(1) To introduce the freshmen to campus itself (hence Cluedo on Day 1)
(2) To introduce the freshmen to new freshmen and help them make friends (hence the many games that involve teamwork, the many extra points given to cheering, the embarrassing forfeits for which some lucky forfeitors had the support of their entire group, who joined them in punishment and made collective fools of themselves =))
(3) To introduce freshmen to seniors, who might hopefully be able to help them in any queries they have about their courses (CORS, bidding, module req etc)

By right, it's generally about bonding, camaraderie and fun.
Friends and Fun.

But along the way, some things get lost, and agenda override objectives.
A camp is about making it enjoyable for the freshmen, not about politics.
So what if we weren't poised to win this year.
It was never meant to be about winning.
For all the shit about not having councillors criticising the IC in front of freshies last yr, for all the "respect" we had to show for your decisions last yr, you guys majorly screwed up that whole thing. You guys made it about winning, and in the process, sunk the morale and joy of the whole group. Did you guys even know what it made you seem like?
Complete, utter assholes.
Like another senior from another group told me, I was crying when it came time to leave my juniors. I was sad to leave camp because of the fun we all had. Why do those guys have to screw things up for you guys, and make you feel like leaving the camp sooner?

So while we plan for next year, the objective remains the same - Friends and Fun.
Ingo councillors, I love you guys for being the fun-loving people you are. The one night I spent actually in-camp was more than enough to convince me that you'll never be like the people who tried to bring you down (albeit unintentionally). Next year ok? Next year we show them what fun really is =)

Remind me this again when we get there.

>.<

Girl 1, if you stumble on this blog and you know I'm talking about you, for fuck's sake, stop asking me "Why you so onz about camp?" Just because you hate NUSSU, just because you think NUSSU did wrong by you, just because you think you're so high and mighty, doesn't mean I have to think like you. You keep saying I'm onz about FOCC stuff in such a condescending tone as if I'm a moron for even going, but the truth is, I go there because of the friends I've made, and because i'm made to feel welcome amongst them. You're not. So bugger off.

Girl 2, do you have any ounce of sense? Before proclaiming in public that you were just waiting for Ingo to win, please go and find out some previous-days information first. You embarrassed our Sirius juniors in front of many other people. Don't be surprised that the Sirius juniors didn't want to talk to you. It's little wonder, really.

obvious
'tis not a very good idea to look at this picture

while listening to Luther Vandross's Dance With My Father. (I'd upload the damned song for you to listen to while looking at that picture too but I'm not home)
Both losses.
One of someone cherished, one of humanity.

Which heaven/hell/god/asshole gave us free will? What damned good is free will?
You fking take the bloody free will away and give us our humanity back, you asshole.

[thanks to daryl sng <link's on the left column> for the picture (no I'm not leeching from him, I took it and uploaded it here) which I think he got from here  ] OH bloody bloody HELL.
